As with anything there are many myths some true and some false. Here are some acne myths that are definitely NOT true.
1. Eating chocolate or fatty food will not mean you getting acne.
2. A blackhead is not dirt, its dark colour is excess skin pigment. Washing yourself more will not help prevent acne. Do not stop washing though as this will allow bacteria to multiply.
3. If someone sitting next to you has acne, you have no need to worry you will not catch it. Acne is not contagious.

Back From My Holiday And I Need To Lose Some Weight!

It goes without saying for the majority, most of us will put on a few pounds whilst on holiday. After all it is a time when you are relaxing having a drink most nights and not really taking much notice of what you are eating.So it really is no surprise when you get back home and realise that you could do with losing a few pounds.
So we head back onto a diet and start exercising to try and regain our figure. For some we will lose weight with the help of weight loss supplements. Whatever you choose to get yourself back in shape a few dieting tips will surely help you get to your target weight just that bit easier.

Child Friendly Recipe: Mini ‘Cat’ Fish Pie

This mini fish pie with a cats face on the top is a great and healthy way of intoducing fish to your children, these pies are suitable for babies from 10 months. Making this pie fun to look at and interesting to eat. You could of course get your child to create their own animal on top making this recipe even more fun for them to do.

Serves: 3
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 45 minutes
INGREDIENTS
375g Peeled and Diced Potatoes,
55g Butter
25g Finely chopped onion,
1 tbsp Flour
125g Skinned and cubed cod fillet,
125g Skinned and cubed salmon fillet,
1 tbsp chopped parsley
1 bay leaf
1.5 tbsp Milk
75ml Milk
50ml vegetable stock
25g frozen peas
50g grated Cheddar cheese
1 lightly beaten egg,
METHOD
1. Preheat your oven to 180C/gas mark 4.
2. Bring a pan of lightly salted water to the boil, add the potatoes, reduce the heat and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until tender. Drain and mash with the milk and half butter until smooth. (Season for babies over one.)
3. Melt the leftover butter in a saucepan, adding the onion, sauté until softened. Add the flour and cook for 30 seconds, stirring. Gradually stir in the milk and then the stock. Bring to the boil and cook for one minute.
4. Add the fish with the parsley and bay leaf. Simmer for about 3 minutes and then stir in the peas and cook for one minute. Remove the bay leaf and stir in the cheese until melted. Season with a little salt and pepper.
5. Divide the fish between 3 ramekin dishes and top with the mashed potato. Brush with the lightly beaten egg. Heat through in the oven for about 15 minutes and finish off for a few minutes under a preheated grill until golden.
6. Use vegetables to make a face on the pies before serving.

Having too much cholesterol can be harmful to your health. Having high LDL cholesterol levels means that cholesterol is being deposited on the walls of your arteries which then form as a hard substance called plaque. When this continues to happen over time then the plaque will build up and cause your arteries to narrow and decrease your blood flow. Eventually this could cause a condition called atherosclerosis, also known as hardening of the arteries (which is a bit easier to say).

3. Your Diet: To keep your cholesterol levels low, avoid foods that are high in cholesterol, saturated fat, and trans fat, all of these will increase your cholesterol levels and risk of developing heart disease.
4. Exercise: Exercise increases HDL levels, which in turn lowers your chance of developing heart disease.
5. Age: As you get older you risk having high cholesterol, your diet and exercise will play a key part in this.

How Can I Drink All That Water?

It is quite a common thing to be told,”you need to drink more water”. How many times have you heard or said yourself,”I don’t like drinking water”?
If you are taking a weight loss supplement then you can guarantee part of the instructions when taking them are to drink at least a couple of litres of water a day. Something that probably puts you off taking the weight loss supplement in the first place.
There are ways you can make water taste better and make it more drinkable.

Planning And Preparation Is The Key

My order of Proactol should be with me, within a matter of days now. So I have taken the decision to prepare myself and get ready to take on the job in hand. Losing some weight.
I do believe that in order to lose weight and to keep the weight off, that I do need to do some of the work and not rely on Proactol to do it all. After all if I do not make any changes to my diet or lifestyle, then how long before the weight creeps back on? As I do not plan on taking Proactol forever.
I haven’t gone mad or drastically changed my diet as I know that any drastic changes in my diet, I wouldn’t be able to maintain. I have chosen to eat healthy 3 times a day without any snacks. If I do get hungry inbetween meal I have fruit on hand. I have also cut out alcohol during the week. I like to have a drink so I will have a glass or two of wine at the weekend, but I will try to cut down the amount consumed at the weekend. This will be the hardest to maintain! So we shall see.
So that’s the plan.Take Proactol,eat healthier,cut down on alcohol intake and exercise. I am now prepared and ready to lose weight!

It goes without saying that there are a lot of products available to buy today, which will help you prevent and treat acne. There is something that you can do to help prevent and treat acne and that is making some alterations to your diet.
I know it is a pain giving up the food you love, but if it means less or even no acne then surely it is worth it? You will be surprised and relieved to hear that changing what you eat will not mean cutting out all the food and drink you love but your spots hate.
