Get On Your Bike!

June 24, 2008

My top exercising tip whether you are on a diet, wishing to tone up or just fancy exercising a bit more is to get on your bike. Apart from the initial cost of your bike and helmet you are not going to incur any other major costs. All you have to do is get on your bike and ride. Even just an hour on your bike will get those muscles toned.

If you want to have a set amount of time to ride then use the alarm on your mobile phone. Set if for 15 minutes and when the alarm goes off turn yourself round and come home. Half an hour exercise done easy!

Riding is great fun, cheap and something you can all do as a family. School holidays can be expensive and a struggle to keep the children amused. With a bike you can pack a small packed lunch and go off for the day without it costing a fortune.

Take a look at some of the bikes available today…

Give it a try and see how much fun you can have on your bike(s) today.

Prepare your own lunch for work. Make sure you change it during the week and not stick to the same. Taking your own lunch will save you money and also stop the temptation of going to the nearest burger bar or pub. If you have access to a fridge and microwave then try making your own home-made soup, very nutritious and low in calories. Click on this link for our home-made Carrot and Coriander Soup.

If you see the dreaded bread basket heading your way, ask them to take it away. Finally If you do have a car drive to the restaurant. A win, win situation you are eating less food and as your eyes are looking at a full plate your brain is thinking it is eating loads!!!

                    Activia yoghurt 14 day challenge

                    January 21, 2008

As many of us have seen on the t.v. Activia with the help of Nell McAndrew, have challenged us to the Activia 14 day challenge. So does it work? I have to say I did not believe it for one second. How can a small pot of yoghurt possibly make a difference?

As part of my healthier eating plan for 2008 I decided to take them up on their challenge. Two weeks on, I am eating my words. Or should I say wondering why I had never eaten Activia yoghurt before. Not only does it taste really nice. With an array of flavours such as Kiwi, strawberry, mixed fruits, muesli. It really does get rid of that bloated feeling. I have now gone up to two pots of Activia a day.

Curiosity got the better of me today. I had a look at their website and set up my own plan. Your Activia plan has some very useful tips. It does of course say you must include one of the tips from the activia part. Well who came blame them? After all, they are a business and are out to make a profit. On this occassion I do not mind as the product is good.

I’m stocking up my fridge with Activia as I plan on eating these for breakfast, mixed in with a bit of muesli for the foreseeable future. So Nell McAndrew you may now shut up - I am convinced.
