If I said the word pole dancing to you what would your first thought be? Seedy image of a lap dancing club or a respectable dance studio? I would imagine for a lot of us it would be the image of a lap dancing club.
However, nowadays many women are using pole dancing as a way to get fit. Whether it is by going to their local gym to a pole dancing lesson or having their very own pole installed in their home. Pole dancing is not longer just associated with lap dancing clubs.
Pole dancing is attracting an increasing amount of women to join this way of exercising because it will improve their fitness, flexibility whilst having a lot of fun.
Although there are not as many pole dancing lessons as aerobics or step classes, don’t worry as they are on the increase.
The benefits of pole dancing are that a good session can burn off more calories than a good session in the gym and will certainly provide you with more muscle tone all over and especially in the arms, thighs and buttocks.
Of course pole dancing does take time to learn and master with some moves proving more difficult than others. With some of the moves you are supporting your entire weight with one arm, or supporting your upper body weight with your stomach muscles.
Pole dancing is not just restricted to the young, anyone of any age can take this up. As we all know any exercise can have a positive effect on how we feel. However just think of the confidence you will feel after pole dancing. Not only will you have exercised well, but also managed to have swung round that pole!
