I was amazed to find out that depilatory or hair removal creams have been around since 4000-3000 B.C. However back then women had to make their own creams unlike today were all you have to do is pop down to the local supermarket, chemist or purchase online.
The ingredients used today are also less bizarre and women when making their own cream used to use combinations such as arsenic and quicklime.
Depilatory creams and lotions have become an effective, cheap and easy alternative to the other hair removal options of shaving and waxing.
So let’s take a look at some of the advantages and disadvantages of hair removal creams:
Advantages
•Painless to remove hair
•Relatively cheap
•Able to do at home
•Quick and easy to use
•Able to use on awkward and sensitive areas
Disadvantages
•Could cause an allergic reaction (this can be avoided if you test a patch of your skin first)
•Could be messy and smelly
•Needs to be repeated (However with some creams when used over a period of time hair growth can be eliminated)
If you have fine hair then you will find the results are better. You should always make sure you buy the correct hair removal cream for the part of the body you are removing the hair from.
As we have said before when you use a hair removal cream you will need to repeat the application regularly. With products such as Revitol Hair Removal Cream and Ultra Hair Away regular use of these will result in hair to becoming thinner and finer over weeks of application, until hair growth is inhibited completely!
