Don’t Forget YOU, So You Have Your Perfect Wedding!
Anyone who has organised their own wedding will know what a stressful time it can be. Yes, if all goes well one of the best days of your life, short of giving birth. You have the venue, guests lists, reception, food, honeymoon to mention a few to organise, book and pay for.
How much though have you given to yourself? I don’t just mean making sure you have your hairdresser and make up booked. Along with a gorgeous dress and shoes. I am talking about making sure you leave yourself enough time and plan to get yourself looking and feeling your best.
Here are some of the keys things when looking back at my own wedding I really should have made time for.
Weight
Whenever I spoke to any other brides or saw someone’s build up to a wedding. The most common thing I have ever heard was, ” I have lost so much weight my wedding dress needs to be altered”. So as I was so busy organising the wedding and a million and one other things. I never made time to
check my weight or do any exercise. It will be okay I thought I lose weight because I am stressed. Not in my case although I didn’t put loads of weight on I did put a bit on and add this to a honeymoon and it was all down hill. If only I had taken the time to eat properly and healthier, silly me it has taken months to sort it out.
Skincare
I am cleansing, exfoliating, my skin is fine and will carry on to be so. A few days before my wedding day get a fake tan put on. Sorted! Any spots can be covered up and no-one will know. Silly me. I forgot the once person who would know about the spot would be me. Now I don’t know about you
but even when a spot is covered up you still can’t help yourself from looking in the mirror to see if anyone else can see it! Being able to tackle a spot out break should have been thought about. A little thing I now, but a pain in the backside and one that could have been dealt with.
Getting In Shape
Some may say that getting in shape is the same as weight, I would disagree. You could lose pounds and not be in shape. On your wedding day you will look fantastic. How you feel inside may be a different matter. I was slightly annoyed with myself for not making time to go to the gym or do some
form of exercise to tone up. If only I had planned it in and not made the excuse I did not have time. Getting yourself in shape and being happy with your shape is also important for your honeymoon. If you want to have a certain look then you need to work at it, not kick yourself when strolling along a beach and wishing you looked a bit better.
My top tip if you are planning your wedding is to make sure you plan into your wedding the above and make the time to do it. If it’s on your plan you will fit it in. For me looking great to everyone else was a fabulous feeling. However, if I had done the above and saw what everyone saw then it would have been even better. Also watch out for fake tans they can rub off onto your dress, so be careful and make sure you try different ones out, on nights and days out before your wedding to make sure.
